Charlotte market sees increase in home closings

The Charlotte market has seen its third consecutive quarterly increase in single-family home closings, according to a report by Metrostudy.

Single-family closings in the fourth quarter totaled 1,939 units, 100 more than in the third quarter.

Annualized closings crested in the second quarter of 2007 at 24,522.

During the fourth quarter, the markets inventory of completed but unsold homes totaled 2,647 units. Thats a 4.4 month supply, the same as in the third quarter.

Historically, the level of finished vacant inventory in Charlotte has ranged from two to three months of supply, according to Metrostudy.
